OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM

  • RICK BALLARD - SENIOR PASTOR

    revrick.ballard@gmail.com

Pastor Rick, and his wife Kathy, came to us in February 2018 to serve as our intentional interim pastor. In October 2021 we called him to be our Senior Pastor.

He has served our Lord in various ministerial roles over his ministry career. He has served as a Singles Minister, a Youth Minister, and a Pastor in various churches. He served the churches of the Collin Baptist Association as Director of Church Starting and Church Growth and then as Executive Director from 1997-2011. He then served as an Intentional Interim or Transitional Pastor of a couple of churches before Gunter.

Pastor Rick and Kathy married in 1973 and have four children and nine grandchildren to keep them occupied when not serving our Church Family here. They have enjoyed following our student activities in the Gunter schools and try to support and encourage them as best they can. They have also been involved in several city activities and outreaches. As our community continues to grow, they look forward reaching out to newcomers and to assist in any way they can to meet the demands that growth can bring. Exciting days are ahead!

Pastor Rick’s communication style is to “exegete”, that is to draw from, the Scriptures as the Bible is his guide to all truth. He draws his strength and power from the Holy Spirit, but the Spirit will NOT lead in any way contrary to Scripture.

    timothy.posey88@yahoo.com

Tim was born the son of a Baptist preacher and by three years old found himself on
stages, where his father preached, singing gospel songs with his family. He thought
every family sang in four and five part harmony. At 8 years old, he began classical
piano training, classical performer and composer. He continued his training for the
next 6 years. The emphasis on the classical training led him to be able to play and
    perform all types of music.
Over the last twenty years, Tim has played and sang in several successful groups,
gospel and country music throughout the United States and Canada. He was the
worship leader of Orchard Hills Baptist church in Garland for 4 years. He now
comes full circle returning to his gospel roots to sing southern gospel quartet music
and sharing the Gospel thru song each week here at FBG. Tim is married to his wife
Sherry and has four beautiful children and lives in Mesquite Texas.

  • DOUG GARNER - FACILITIES MANAGER

Doug joined the staff in June of 2004. Doug retired from Texas Instruments where he worked for 35 years. The last 25 years he was involved in facilities management. Doug enjoyed the facilities position at TI because it was a service responsibility. He enjoys serving and continues to serve here at FBC Gunter. Doug and his wife Tammie have five children and six grandchildren.

    AMBER ARNOUX - CHILDREN'S DIRECTOR

    AMBER.FBCGUNTER@GMAIL.COM

Amber is a proud Texan who grew up in a nearby small town and attended college at Southern Methodist University. The Lord called her into ministry in 2007 and she spent the next 7 years faithfully serving on a church staff in youth and missions ministries. In the last few years, God has opened doors for her to serve with preschool children and she is excited to continue serving Him by pouring into the wonderful kids and families of FBC Gunter and the local community.

Amber has a wonderful husband, two amazing daughters, two dogs, a cat, and an attempted garden. She’s loves coffee, enjoys sketching, and celebrates the small stuff. Come say “HI”!

    Jenny barton - summer intern

    Secondary Title

Jenny is the daughter Mike and Debbie Barton and FBC’s Summer Intern. She is heading into her senior year at Tarleton State University as an Agribusiness and Management major. During her time at Tarleton, she has been heavily involved with the Baptist Student Ministry on campus. She has led several Bible studies, hosted events, served on mission trips, discipled multiple girls, and seen several college students come to know the Lord. She had been on their lead team since Spring of 2022. In that time, the Lord has sparked her passion for ministry. As she enters her final year of college, she’s asking the big question, “What is God's plan for me?” This is what she has to say about this opportunity: “As I’ve been serving in college ministry, God has given me the heart to see people transformed by him. I know that I enjoy college ministry but also want to try other areas of ministry as I feel like I’m being called into God's mission field. Therefore, I have the opportunity to serve as a summer intern here at FBC Gunter. I will be working in the children’s ministry, youth ministry, and strategizing some other parts of ministry within our church. I’m so blessed to have this opportunity and can’t wait to see where the Lord leads me after this summer.”
